IC RTL2GDS Architect, AE

Role Summary

Technical leader on Cadence's North America Field Applications team driving strategic customer engagements to deliver advanced digital implementation and signoff solutions for leading semiconductor companies.

Work includes hands-on flow optimization, cross-functional alignment with R&D and product teams, and presenting technical outcomes to customers and industry forums.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include customer-facing technical leadership, method and flow development, and cross-team influence.

  • Lead customer engagements to achieve PPA and design closure across advanced nodes (3nm and below).
  • Drive flow optimizations and benchmarks for synthesis, place & route, STA, IR drop, and power/timing closure.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product engineering to influence tool and feature enhancements based on customer needs.
  • Deploy and customize flows and automation to meet large-scale program requirements.
  • Represent the company at industry events, author technical material, and present results to technical and executive audiences.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership attributes.

  • 15+ years of experience in IC design implementation and signoff; proven success managing large technical programs.
  • Deep expertise in digital design fundamentals and advanced-node implementation (3nm and below).
  • Strong proficiency in scripting and flow customization (Tcl, Python, Perl).
  • Experience driving customer success and influencing stakeholders at executive levels.
  • Practical knowledge of EDA tool ecosystems and methodology for design convergence.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior experience with Cadence tools (Genus, Innovus, Tempus, Voltus, Conformal, Cerebrus) or competitive solutions.
  • Experience with Agentic-AI features and automation in physical design flows.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as specified in the posting).
