Job Title
IC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join the R&D team developing Ethernet/networking IP (NETC) and related IP for advanced microcontrollers, processors, and switches. The team delivers IP that is integrated into SoCs used across automotive, industrial, edge, and networking products.
The role is part of a central chip engineering organization (AI and Chip Engineering) and focuses on architecture, implementation, and verification of IP and SoC-level networking features to meet product quality and delivery targets.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires approximately 5+ years of relevant IP and SoC verification experience.
Responsibilities
The engineer will design and execute verification plans and infrastructures to verify Ethernet/networking IP and SoC integrations, and collaborate with architecture and design teams to close functional issues.
- Architect, design, implement, and verify Ethernet/networking IP for integration into next-generation SoCs.
- Develop UVM-based verification environments and testbenches for hardware IP and SoC products.
- Create directed and constrained-random tests; review and drive functional and code coverage closure.
- Debug failures, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with architects and designers to resolve defects.
- Perform trade-off analysis on performance versus implementation complexity.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and IP functional/implementation specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement in verification methodology, tools, and flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- 5+ years of experience in IP and SoC product verification and delivery.
- Expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM verification methodologies.
- Proficiency with EDA tools and scripting languages used for verification flows (Python, TCL, Perl, Makefile, Shell).
- Experience architecting and implementing verification infrastructures and executing full verification cycles.
- Experience with revision control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to quality, and good documentation and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with hardware/software implementation trade-offs and algorithm development.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with formal verification and functional safety verification.
- Knowledge of networking technologies and TCP/IP protocols; experience with routers, bridges, or switches.
- Security or cryptography experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
