IC Design Engineer I
Role Summary
Join SRI International's Microcircuit Emulation Center (MEC) to support the Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program. The role is based in Princeton, NJ and focuses on producing replacements for obsolete microcircuits used in weapon systems, ensuring design, verification, and sustainment through manufacture.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and support for manufacturing and testing of emulated microcircuits.
- Design, simulate, and verify digital and analog circuits.
- Review specifications and requirements to determine appropriate designs that emulate original parts.
- Design and verify analog blocks such as operational amplifiers, comparators, and regulators.
- Support layout engineers with macro cell layouts and ensure correct post-layout functionality.
- Collaborate with test engineers to develop characterization and qualification tests.
- Support production, redesign, and sustainment activities for government weapon-system components.
Requirements
Must-have technical qualifications and eligibility.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract access.
- Experience with CAD tools: schematic entry, layout, DRC, LVS.
- Familiarity with basic VLSI concepts.
- Experience using schematic capture, SPICE simulation, HDL modeling, and verification flows.
- Proficiency in digital and analog circuit design.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Minimum BS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
