Job Title
IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Technical contributor on a digital design team working on highly integrated mixed-signal SoCs for low-power MCU and wireless products. Responsible for block architecture, RTL implementation, IP/SoC integration and verification in a Singapore engineering site.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Typical profiles include candidates with a bachelor's plus ~2 years of relevant experience, or candidates with a master's/PhD.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, integration and verification of digital blocks and SoC infrastructure.
- Define block architecture and partitioning based on system requirements.
- Write and maintain RTL implementations following quality guidelines.
- Integrate digital blocks and IP into SoC infrastructure (bus matrix, memory interfaces, clocks, power/reset management).
- Support integration of mixed-signal and RF IP, including mixed-signal modeling and cosimulation.
- Perform block-level and SoC-level verification using directed, random and assertion-based methods.
- Develop embedded firmware to validate SoC integration and system-level behavior.
- Prepare documentation, participate in requirement/architecture/design/verification reviews, and contribute to customer-facing manuals and datasheets.
Requirements
Core technical skills required; listed as must-have and nice-to-have.
-
Must-have: Detailed experience in digital block architecture and RTL coding; strong engineering fundamentals; experience with SoC integration and IP integration.
-
Must-have: Verification experience (logic simulation, testbench development, assertion-based techniques); familiarity with UVM or System-On-Chip verification is a plus.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with microcontroller/embedded processor concepts and embedded firmware for validation.
-
Must-have: Scripting or programming ability (Python, Perl, Tcl) and effective written/verbal communication skills.
-
Nice-to-have: Low-power implementation experience, Cortex-M based system knowledge, Design-for-Test (scan, ATPG, MBIST), and mixed-signal/RF integration experience.
Education Requirements
PhD or Master’s degree in microelectronics, or a Bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
