IC CAD Engineer

Role Summary

Develop, install, and test silicon verification decks (primarily Calibre) and associated automation for advanced FINFET, GAA, and high-voltage technologies. Support IP design teams by validating and integrating physical verification and extraction tool flows with foundries and EDA vendors.

Experience Level

Senior - requires 10+ years of EDA experience as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop and deploy Calibre decks for advanced FINFET/GAA/HV nodes.
• Define tool acceptance and certification criteria with internal teams, foundries, and EDA vendors.
• Create IP test-cases and test structures to validate tool and technology updates on schedule.
• Develop automation and tool-flow integration software (Cadence SKILL, PERL, UNIX shell, TCL).
• Produce documentation and provide hands-on training for AMS design and layout engineers.
• Track and resolve tool and technology file issues with foundry and vendor support teams.
• Monitor EDA industry trends; evaluate and champion new tools and capabilities.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Extensive user-level experience with Calibre and Cadence Virtuoso (layout & schematics).
• Familiarity with extraction and simulation tools: StarRC and HSPICE; QRC and Spectre desirable.
• Strong programming skills in Cadence SKILL, PERL, UNIX shell; TCL experience expected.
• Solid background in layout design, physical verification, and post-layout extraction.
• Experience across CAD tool lifecycle: evaluation, QA, test, release, and user support.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required, with 10+ years of EDA experience as specified in the posting.
