Job Title

HWQA Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for hardware QA and validation of SoC platforms across pre-silicon (FPGA) and silicon engineering platforms. Collaborates with ASIC, FPGA and software teams to develop test plans, automation, workloads and debug methods to ensure feature correctness, stability and reliability.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” minimum 3+ years of test development and validation experience on pre-silicon and silicon SoC/embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include test design, automation, validation and cross-team debugging for SoC/platform bring-up.

  • Design, implement and execute test cases and test plans on pre-silicon (FPGA) and silicon engineering chip platforms using Data Center Server OS / ARM Linux.
  • Create and validate test plans covering OS kernel, CPU, memory, and IO interfaces (C2C, USB, PCIe, Ethernet).
  • Develop automated testing frameworks and harnesses; apply GenAI/LLM tools to assist stress and stability testing, log analysis, and test generation.
  • Develop workloads and select tools to exercise new chip features and validate functionality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with ASIC, FPGA and software engineering teams to define requirements, test methods and resolve issues.
  • Investigate, triage and debug faults across hardware, firmware and software; provide resolutions and close issues.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • 3+ years of extensive test development, execution and validation on pre-silicon and silicon for Embedded/SoC platforms (Android/Linux/WOA).
  • Hands-on experience with Windows on Arm (WOA) and GPU validation: test planning, execution, debugging and issue closure for SoC/platform bring-up.
  • Strong understanding of SoC architecture, platform bring-up and IP-level validation (USB, display, GPU, LSIO) with ability to debug HW/FW/SW interactions.
  • Experience designing and developing custom validation tools, test frameworks and automation infrastructure.
  • Experience creating workloads and methodologies for stress and stability testing.
  • Hands-on validation experience with interfaces such as PCIe, USB3, CPU and memory.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux kernel, bootloader, device drivers, firmware testing, virtualization and multicore fundamentals.
  • Practical knowledge of AI/LLM fundamentals and experience applying them to validation tasks (test strategy, log/trace analysis, triage).

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with GenAI/LLM tools (e.g., Cursor, Codex) to optimize test strategies and automate script/harness generation.
  • Experience using analyzers or oscilloscopes for hardware debugging.
  • Proven track record delivering complex automation and validation projects from planning to production-ready outcomes.

Education Requirements

Graduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Electronics or Telecommunication (e.g., B.Tech/BE/MS). No alternative certifications were specified in the posting.
