High Speed Optical Transceiver Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA Networking to design electrical subsystems for high-speed optical transceivers used in data center networking products. The role focuses on electrical schematic design, PCB/board-level design, component selection, and cross-disciplinary integration with optics, thermal/mechanical, and signal/power integrity teams.

This position requires hands-on lab validation and collaboration with manufacturing and qualification teams to transition designs from prototype to mass production.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design electrical schematics, board layouts, and select components for optical transceiver products.
• Lead multi-discipline product design activities with thermal/mechanical, SI/PI, software, and optics teams.
• Perform hands-on lab work to build, test, evaluate, and iterate on designs.
• Work with qualification, suppliers, and manufacturers to scale designs to mass production.
• Adopt and apply new technologies to improve successive product generations.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

• Minimum ~2 years professional engineering experience in relevant hardware or electronics roles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an engineering approach to physical trade-offs.
• Ability to work on multi-discipline projects and collaborate across teams.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced product development environment.

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of electro-optic communications, high-speed signaling, or analog circuit design.
• Hands-on experience with electrical lab instrumentation and measurements.
• Prior experience in hardware or system engineering roles.

Education Requirements
