Job Title

High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) System Validation Lead (AI Accelerator Platform)

Role Summary

Lead validation strategy and execution for HBM-based memory subsystems within next-generation AI accelerator platforms. Work across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases to ensure memory bring-up, performance, reliability, and production readiness.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. The posting requests candidates with approximately 8+ years of experience in memory validation, silicon validation, or platform bring-up; alternative minimums are provided in the Minimum Qualifications section.

Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end memory validation, system-level tests, and debug for HBM integrated with AI compute platforms.

  • Define and own HBM validation strategy from emulation to production silicon.
  • Develop and execute validation plans: initialization, training flows, power-state transitions, reliability, error recovery, and manufacturing diagnostics.
  • Drive pre-silicon and first-silicon memory bring-up and perform root-cause analysis of failures.
  • Validate interactions between HBM, AI accelerators, compute fabrics, cache/coherency, and NoC.
  • Create stress scenarios representative of real-world AI workloads and measure performance and reliability.
  • Lead complex silicon debug: analyze crashes, hangs, data corruption, training failures, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with memory architecture, PHY, firmware, package/SI/PI, and AI software teams.
  • Build scalable automation, telemetry, analytics, and debug/performance-monitoring tools; apply AI-assisted validation techniques where appropriate.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • 8+ years of experience in memory validation, silicon validation, or platform bring-up (posting's preferred baseline).
  • Deep knowledge of DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5/LPDDR6 architectures and HBM technologies.
  • Experience with memory controllers, PHY architectures, cache and coherency systems.
  • Hands-on pre-silicon validation and FPGA platform experience, and post-silicon bring-up.
  • Strong silicon debug skills using logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, performance counters, and firmware traces.
  • Programming in Python and C/C++ for test automation and tooling.
  • Ability to develop scalable automation frameworks, telemetry, and performance-monitoring tools.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and complex root-cause analysis skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior experience with HBM2/HBM3/HBM3E or advanced stacked-memory technologies.
  • Experience with AI accelerators, GPUs, HPC, or server-class platforms, NoCs, chiplets, or coherent interconnects.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), thermal characterization, and package-level interactions.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. The posting specifies: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 5+ years, OR PhD with 4+ years of relevant ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience.
