Head of IC Design
Role Summary
Lead Power Integrations' global IC design organization and own delivery of manufacturable ICs from specification through tape-out and silicon validation. Work with Product & Technology, Marketing, Operations and Business Units to translate product and system requirements into silicon that meets performance, cost, quality and schedule commitments.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 15+ years of IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Responsible for global IC design execution, methodology, cross-functional alignment and team development.
- Own execution and delivery of all IC development programs across analog, digital, mixed-signal integration, verification, CAD/layout and design reuse.
- Ensure designs meet schedule, performance, cost, manufacturability and yield targets from specification through tape-out and silicon validation.
- Translate roadmap and product requirements into executable design specifications; provide early feasibility, risk and trade-off input.
- Establish and improve design methodologies, tools, verification coverage, reuse and time-to-functioning silicon.
- Implement disciplined risk management to increase first-pass silicon success and delivery predictability.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations and Business Units to align architecture intent, manufacturing constraints and system requirements.
- Recruit, develop and retain global IC design talent and build a culture focused on quality, execution discipline and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and experience.
- 15+ years of IC design experience with proven leadership of global IC design teams.
- Deep expertise in high-voltage / power IC design and mixed-signal integration.
- Experience with semiconductor processes; BCD, HV and GaN preferred.
- Proven track record delivering silicon on schedule with high quality and improving design productivity and execution predictability.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across product, marketing and operations.
