Job Title

HBM Product Engineering (DFT)

Role Summary

Product Development Engineer on the Media Health team focused on Design-for-Test (DFT) and test/program development for HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) products. Acts as an interface among design engineering, test engineering, and product engineering to validate test strategies, support test development, and improve device yield and quality.

The role includes hands-on bench testing, test program debug, data analysis, and working with pre-silicon simulations and tester resources to ensure silicon meets performance expectations.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires proven experience in a product engineering or similar test engineering role; no specific years of experience specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include collaboration across teams, test development, and production support.

  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to run pre-silicon simulations and validate DFT/test strategies; provide actionable feedback.
  • Contribute to pre-silicon checklist items and define required tester resources with Test Engineering.
  • Modify and validate test programs to meet product-specific requirements and performance targets.
  • Support test program debug, analyze test data, and assist characterization of HBM devices.
  • Perform hands-on bench testing to isolate issues and develop diagnostics and tests.
  • Identify root causes for failures using electrical/physical analysis and testing data; update test strategies to improve quality and yield.
  • Monitor yield performance and investigate deviations from projections.
  • Develop tools and optimized test features to improve processes and test efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience; preferred skills listed separately.

Must-have

  • Proven experience in a product engineering or similar role focused on device/test validation.
  • Experience in digital circuit design and ASIC testing using scan tools.
  • Proficiency in Python and C programming for test development and analysis.
  • Custom BIST APG programming experience for memory testing.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.

Nice-to-have

  • High-volume production data extraction and analysis using tools such as JMP and/or Python.
  • Hands-on bench testing experience with engineering hardware and integrated circuits.
  • Experience with circuit simulation (SPICE) and Verilog.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
