HBM Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for evaluating and improving HBM assembly manufacturing processes, coordinating equipment and material procurement, and qualifying and implementing new processes and tooling. The role works with suppliers and global teams to maintain and optimize equipment, materials, and process performance.
Experience Level
Entry-level (approximately 2 years of related work experience).
Responsibilities
Key duties include process and equipment ownership for assigned assembly operations and driving continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and improve assigned assembly manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain and document process, equipment, and materials knowledge and interactions.
- Optimize process and equipment variables; identify critical process variables.
- Use DOE, FMEA, OCAP, 8D, SPC and preventive maintenance techniques to control and improve processes.
- Perform containment for process and equipment deviations, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
- Design or modify equipment components to improve capability and implement improvements.
- Research and evaluate future process, equipment, and material technologies; create decision matrices for selection.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships and evaluate supplier designs and production processes.
- Evaluate new tooling materials for cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- Approximately 2 years of relevant work experience in equipment or manufacturing support.
- Hands-on experience handling thinning and dicing tools (including dicing, laser groove, NCF lamination processes).
- Knowledge of tool installation, setup, and buyoff procedures.
- Familiarity with tool signals such as SVID, CEID, ECID is preferred.
- Ability to perform FDC analysis and drive improvements is preferred.
- Effective English communication skills for discussions with suppliers and global teams.
