Job Title

Hardware Verification Engineer, Entry-Level (Intern)

Role Summary

Two-month, hourly, in-person internship on the Hardware-Assisted Verification (HAV) team in Sunnyvale working on emulation and prototyping platforms. The role focuses on hands-on development and debugging of memory models, compile flows, and integration across front-end, compile, and debug workflows.

This is an applied R&D role that requires rapid ramp-up and practical problem solving on real hardware-assisted verification systems.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for recent graduates; typically 0–2 years of experience. This is a short (2-month) contract position requiring immediate contribution.

Responsibilities

Primary technical tasks during the contract period include:

  • Support development of emulation and prototyping capabilities, including memory models and compile flows for hardware-assisted verification.
  • Contribute integration work across front-end, compile, and debug workflows to help unify platform solutions.
  • Assist in debugging issues arising during customer use cases and work with the team to identify root causes and test fixes.
  • Write and run scripts in Python or C/C++ to automate testing, data collection, and workflow validation.
  • Document work clearly so teammates can build on findings after the contract ends.
  • Collaborate with engineers across the HAV team to understand platform interactions and identify bottlenecks.

Requirements

Key qualifications and expectations. Degree information is summarized separately under Education Requirements.

Must-have

  • Hands-on programming or scripting experience in C/C++ or Python from coursework, projects, or internships.
  • Basic understanding of digital design, hardware verification, or prototyping concepts from academic or project work.
  • Strong analytical and methodical debugging skills; able to investigate issues without complete documentation.
  • Availability to work in person in Sunnyvale, California for the full 2-month contract period.
  • Ability to ramp quickly and contribute on a short timeline.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with FPGA-based prototyping, emulation platforms, or hardware/software co-design.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; recent graduates who have completed their degree are the intended candidates.
