Job Title
Hardware Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform pre- and post-silicon validation for mixed-signal ICs in the Sensing Product Group. Work spans FPGA prototyping, lab bring-up, bench characterization, firmware/hardware debug, test automation and verification coverage closure.
Collaborate with analog, digital, firmware, verification, product and applications teams to deliver validated silicon and characterization documentation.
Experience Level
Mid-level — 5+ years of industry experience in hardware and software validation.
Responsibilities
Key duties include planning and executing verification activities across pre- and post-silicon phases, automating measurements, and reporting results.
- Validate pre-silicon and post-silicon hardware and firmware to meet target specifications.
- Define, build and debug FPGA prototyping platforms for emulation and validation.
- Lead silicon validation test plans, bring-up devices, develop lab hardware and evaluation setups, run and analyze measurements.
- Develop automated tests, instrument drivers and scripts for lab measurement automation and data analysis.
- Execute analog and mixed-signal characterization across corners and correlate measurements with expected results.
- Design and develop fixtures and test components to support validation.
- Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with design teams.
- Author test plans, characterization reports and documentation for design reviews.
- Provide technical support to test, product and application engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience are listed first; desired skills follow.
-
Must-have: 5+ years industry experience in hardware and software validation.
-
Must-have: Hands‑on experience with lab instruments (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, supplies, multimeters) and measurement methods.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (Python); experience with embedded systems and SW development for validation.
-
Must-have: Experience with IC bring-up, pre/post-silicon validation and digital systems.
-

-
Must-have: Exposure to development boards, processors, microcontrollers and FPGAs (Xilinx/Vivado).
-
Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good verbal and written communication.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with AI coding assistants and related workflows (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor).
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with MCU-based systems (ARM, RISC‑V, PIC, STM32) and RTL languages/tools (SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL) or Matlab.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with version control (Git) and scripted regression frameworks.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with analog/mixed-signal circuit concepts and testing techniques.
Education Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
