Job Title

Hardware Validation (Test Solutions) Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Test Solutions Engineering (TSE) team responsible for developing automated test equipment (ATE) solutions to validate yield, performance, and reliability of semiconductor products. Works across design, DFT, operations, reliability, and customer teams to define test strategies and enable production ramps.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 8+ years of relevant semiconductor development or product characterization experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

  • Develop ATE test solutions: create test plans, define experiments, and perform analyses to validate yield, performance, and reliability.
  • Characterize ATE and refine test methods using device characterization and customer system feedback.
  • Use DFT to explore operating space, identify failure modes, and establish test margins to protect yields.
  • Define DFT and test requirements with design teams and translate requirements into test programs.
  • Collaborate with design, DFT, operations, reliability, and customers to meet coverage and production requirements.
  • Perform statistical and data analysis to assess product performance and manufacturing variation.

Requirements

Required and preferred technical qualifications (education items are listed separately below):

  • Must-have: 8+ years experience in semiconductor development and/or product characterization.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with hardware validation and circuit characterization; solid understanding of VLSI concepts, design-for-test methodology, statistics, and data analysis techniques.
  • Must-have: Programming skills in Perl, Python, R or similar within a Linux environment.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical results.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or a related technical field. Preferred: additional graduate degree in EE (Master’s and/or PhD). The posting does not state an explicit "or equivalent experience" clause.
