Hardware Test Engineer
Role Summary
Join Lumilens's hardware team to validate and verify high-performance photonics and semiconductor products through test planning, automation, and hands-on debugging. The role partners with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet reliability, compliance, and performance targets.
Experience Level
Senior-level — 10–12 years of relevant hardware test experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver, execute, and maintain test strategies for new and existing hardware platforms.
- Design and execute hardware test plans and detailed test cases for product validation.
- Develop, maintain, and extend automated test setups and frameworks.
- Analyze and debug hardware failures; collaborate with design and development teams to drive fixes.
- Perform environmental testing (thermal, humidity) and EMC testing as required.
- Operate and maintain test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and environmental chambers.
- Interpret schematics and datasheets to define test methods and acceptance criteria.
- Document test procedures, results, and compliance evidence for validation and manufacturing handoff.
- Ensure testing practices align with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Core technical skills and proven track record in hardware test and validation.
- Must-have: 10–12 years of hands-on hardware testing experience in optical, semiconductor, or closely related technology sectors.
- Must-have: Proficiency with hardware testing methodologies, test automation tools, and developing automated test setups.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, ability to read schematics and datasheets, and experience with digital and analog circuit principles.
- Must-have: Experience with hardware debugging, signal integrity and power integrity concepts, and use of lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
- Must-have: Experience performing environmental testing (temperature, humidity) and familiarity with EMC test processes.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience with photonics or optical interconnect hardware and knowledge of relevant regulatory standards.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with manufacturing test handoff and production-level test development.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
