Job Title

Hardware Systems Engineer

Role Summary

Work on design, implementation, verification, and bring-up of real-time hardware systems that accelerate software and algorithm development. You will work across FPGA, firmware, PCB, and software layers to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify a required number of years of experience.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on system-level hardware development, verification, and cross-disciplinary integration.

  • Design and implement real-time digital signal processing systems on FPGAs.
  • Translate and optimize signal-processing algorithms into hardware and software implementations.
  • Develop HDL (VHDL/Verilog) and accompanying software (Python/C) for system control and data paths.
  • Perform system verification, validation, and performance tuning to meet efficiency and reliability targets.
  • Debug and characterize hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
  • Participate in PCB design review, bring-up, and hardware integration activities.
  • Collaborate with software and algorithm teams on highly parallelized implementations (e.g., FPGA, GPU).

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Must-have: Experience designing FPGA-based real-time digital signal processing systems.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog and experience writing HDL for parallel hardware.
  • Must-have: Strong programming skills in Python and C for tooling, control, and test code.
  • Must-have: Hands-on debugging experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with standard hardware protocols (SPI, I2C, USB, PCIe, MIPI, UART).
  • Nice-to-have: PCB design and layout experience; system-level implementation of complex algorithms.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with GPU programming or other highly parallel hardware platforms.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience in system verification and validation for efficiency and reliability.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
