Hardware Program Manager — HW Fulfillment and R&D Procurement

Role Summary

Manage the end-to-end hardware ordering, prototyping, and delivery lifecycle for HW R&D teams focused on advanced networking products. Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, procurement, operations, and external manufacturers to ensure boards, silicon samples, and prototype systems meet R&D schedules.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Preferred experience: 2–4 years in hardware program management, operations program management, HW procurement, NPI, or similar roles within R&D organizations.

Responsibilities

Provide program management for hardware fulfillment and prototype delivery across multiple R&D projects.

  • Act as focal point for hardware orders, board assemblies, and silicon sampling required by engineering teams.
  • Translate technical requirements from HW design engineers and system architects into procurement and build plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Global Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and external CMs to remove bottlenecks.
  • Track board builds, component lead times, hardware allocations, and delivery status to meet project milestones.
  • Develop and improve ordering processes, tracking tools, and fulfillment methodologies for fast-paced R&D environments.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in HW program management, operations program management, HW procurement, or NPI within R&D organizations.
  • Strong understanding of hardware development cycles, PCB/PCBA build processes, component lead times, and fulfillment workflows.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules, and resolve supply/ordering bottlenecks under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Highly organized, able to multitask, and effective at negotiation and stakeholder management.

Nice-to-have:

  • Hands-on experience in hardware design, board layout, or electronic component engineering.
  • Direct NPI experience or management of prototype assembly with contract manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with PLM/ERP tools (for example Agile, SAP) and custom tracking dashboards for hardware fulfillment.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
