Role Summary

Join Intel Government Technologies Customer Engineering as a Hardware Platform Applications Engineer supporting military and aerospace customers. The role focuses on platform bring-up, on-site power-on support, debugging customer-reported issues, and developing proof-of-concept systems and technical collateral.

Responsibilities

The engineer will work directly with customers and internal platform teams to enable successful system bring-up and field support. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Provide on-site customer support for system power-on, bring-up, and debugging.
  • Define and develop proof-of-concept systems and demos for customers and partners.
  • Replicate, analyze, and debug customer-reported platform hardware issues.
  • Develop and present technical collateral, white papers, and training materials to customers and channels.
  • Work with platform and chipset architects to define hardware requirements.
  • Participate in product/program meetings and customer schematic/layout reviews.
  • Support failure analysis and field quality return investigations.
  • Use laboratory measurement equipment and lab tools during debug activities.
  • Operate Linux-based systems and toolchains to build, flash, and debug software components.

Requirements

Must-have technical and eligibility requirements, followed by desirable skills.

  • Must-have: US Citizenship and ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
  • Must-have: 3+ years of end-to-end platform hardware (board) design experience including circuit design, schematic capture, platform guideline creation, and bring-up/power-on debug.
  • Must-have: Hands-on lab/debug experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and similar instruments; ability to perform board bring-up and debug of CPU interfaces.
  • Must-have: Ability to operate Linux-based machines and toolchains for firmware/software flashing and debugging.
  • Must-have: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to create customer-ready collateral.
  • Nice-to-have: Active US Government security clearance (Secret or higher).
  • Nice-to-have: Postgraduate degree in a technical field.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with signal integrity or power integrity simulations, Intel power delivery architecture, and SoC bring-up challenges.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience with military/aerospace customers, Defense Industrial Base (DIB) partners, or government sponsor agencies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required; a postgraduate degree is preferred. Equivalent practical experience may be acceptable. The role also requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.
