Job Title

Hardware Junior Safety Engineer

Role Summary

Support the CTO Functional Safety team to ensure safety and reliability of semiconductor SoC and MCU products. Work with senior engineers on safety assessments, reviews, and development of safety concepts for embedded systems.

This role focuses on learning and applying ISO 26262/IEC 61508 functional safety practices, system architecture analysis, and safety assessment techniques.

Experience Level

Entry-level: up to 2 years of relevant experience; early-career engineer role focused on learning under senior guidance.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include supporting safety activities across hardware, software, and system domains:

  • Assist in evaluating MCU/MPU safety architectures and performing safety analyses such as Fault Tree Analysis and Dependent Failure Analysis.
  • Support safety assessments and participate in peer reviews under senior engineer guidance.
  • Promote functional safety awareness and best practices within cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and system teams to gather information and support safety work.
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiency in safety assessments.
  • Apply analytical thinking to identify issues and support problem resolution.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of hardware/semiconductor product development lifecycle: architecture, design, simulation, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in complex, evolving technical environments.
  • Willingness to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to embedded systems or automotive/industrial applications.
  • Basic awareness of functional safety concepts (ISO 26262 / IEC 61508).
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming, scripting, or debugging and software development tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering. Role targets candidates with up to 2 years of experience.
