Job Title
Hardware Engineer / Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Design, implement and validate advanced FPGA-based hardware and emulation platforms to support prototyping and hardware development. Work with cross-functional engineering teams to map RTL into FPGA environments, run diagnostics, and improve functional and performance testing processes.
You will provide technical leadership on FPGA integration, diagnostics, and hardware emulation to accelerate product development and improve platform reliability.
Experience Level
Senior β 5+ years of hands-on RTL design and verification experience, preferably with complex FPGA systems.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL development, FPGA prototyping, validation, and diagnostic testing.
- Develop and optimize RTL for Xilinx UltraScale, UltraScale+, and Versal FPGAs.
- Map RTL designs into FPGA environments and drive implementation and verification flows.
- Drive hardware emulation and prototyping strategies on platforms such as Zebu and HAPS.
- Create, run, and analyze diagnostics and test suites for production and field use.
- Investigate and resolve hardware issues through comprehensive testing and root-cause analysis.
- Continuously improve functional and performance testing processes and automation.
- Collaborate with and mentor cross-functional teams to share best practices and accelerate integration.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in RTL design and verification with complex FPGA systems.
- Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages: Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog.
- Experience with FPGA tool flows and implementation tools such as Vivado.
- Practical experience in Unix/Linux environments and using industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies.
- Scripting skills for automation and productivity (Shell, Perl, Python, or TCL).
- Experience with HDL simulation, emulation, and prototyping platforms.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-have:
- Specific experience with Xilinx UltraScale/UltraScale+ and Versal device families.
- Experience defining and validating multi-rack FPGA-based systems and packaging diagnostic tests for production/field use.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
