Hardware Engineer, Silicon Power and Productization
Role Summary
Work on NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Productization team to take new silicon from pre-silicon planning through bring-up, characterization, correlation, and production. The role focuses on silicon power and performance, productization decisions (binning, specifications), and system-level optimization across silicon, board hardware, firmware, and software.
This position collaborates with architecture and design teams, uses data-driven methods to analyze telemetry and characterization data, and drives issues to root cause to make silicon production-ready.
Experience Level
Entry-level β requires approximately 2+ years of relevant experience in silicon bring-up, characterization, validation, productization, or related hardware fields.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include driving silicon power productization and translating pre-silicon features into production-ready solutions.
- Drive silicon power productization from pre-silicon planning through bring-up and production, including test strategy, feature readiness, characterization, and optimization.
- Partner with architecture and design teams to identify improvements, validate features, and translate them into production-ready solutions.
- Correlate measured silicon behavior with pre-silicon expectations, investigate gaps, and lead debugging to root cause across silicon, board, power delivery, firmware, and software.
- Build power and performance models and characterization methodologies that influence binning, product specifications, and productization decisions.
- Apply data-driven and AI/ML methods to analyze characterization and telemetry data, identify anomalies and trends, and accelerate debugging and optimization.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Minimum ~2 years experience in silicon bring-up, characterization, validation, productization, or related hardware engineering roles.
- Understanding of silicon power and performance drivers (process technology, voltage, frequency, workloads, operating conditions).
- Experience with system-level hardware debugging and cross-domain interactions (silicon, board hardware, firmware, and software).
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; able to form hypotheses from measurements and design experiments to validate them.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with power modelling, silicon binning, and productization methodology.
- Experience applying AI/ML to engineering workflows (debug assistants, characterization analytics, anomaly/trend detection).
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux systems, low-power states, power controllers, device physics, or power delivery.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field β or equivalent practical experience.
