Role Summary
Internship on Jane Street's hardware team working on FPGA and ASIC projects. You will be paired with a mentor and complete a single project that moves from design through validation and integration.
Work focuses on RTL design and testing using hardware construction tools (OCaml/Hardcaml) and common FPGA/ASIC toolflows.

Entry-level internship. Intended for students or early-career engineers; no specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities during the internship include:
- Design RTL for FPGA or ASIC targets using hardware description or construction languages.
- Implement and validate a working hardware project from concept to prototype or tapeout-ready deliverable.
- Develop and run tests and integration suites for designs.
- Use vendor toolchains (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, Genus, Innovus) to synthesize, place-and-route, and verify builds.
- Collaborate closely with a mentor and the hardware team; present progress and incorporate feedback.

Must-have: Comfortable programming in at least one software language.

Must-have: Experience with a hardware description or construction language (VHDL, Verilog, Chisel, PyMTL or similar) for design and testing.
