Job Title

Hardware Engineer

Role Summary

Develops, improves, and qualifies equipment, software, and processes for test and manufacturing. Works with global cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps, lead projects from definition through first-of-kind production deployment, and enable standardized capabilities across Micron test locations.

Provides automated test equipment and process development, conducts experiments and benchmarking, and delivers technical documentation and presentations. International travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include equipment and process development, project leadership, and technical analysis:

  • Design, develop, qualify, and improve equipment, software, and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with business units, packaging, site, and finance teams to define project scope and business value.
  • Lead worldwide projects from definition through first-of-kind deployment into production.
  • Establish and maintain technical roadmaps and perform gap analysis against product roadmaps.
  • Research industry trends, conduct benchmarking, and evaluate new equipment capabilities.
  • Perform controlled evaluations, design experiments, and analyze data to understand product, process, material, and equipment limits.
  • Identify, isolate, and resolve sources of deviation; perform interference and risk analysis.
  • Produce technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities:

  • Mechanical design experience.
  • Mechanical finite element analysis (FEA) simulation skills.
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) proficiency.
  • Interference and risk analysis of technical designs.
  • Technical documentation and presentation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Data extraction and analysis skills.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
