Hardware Engineer
Role Summary
Join the HAV Solutions team within Siemens Digital Industries Software to develop and verify memory models and hardware components used for simulation, emulation, and prototyping. The role focuses on implementing SoftModel memories, validating memory protocols, and testing the VirtuaLAB solution portfolio across releases.
The position requires hands-on work from specification through deployment support and coordination of test results across configurations and platforms.
Experience Level
Entry-level — 0–1 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Understand and apply memory protocol standards (e.g., JEDEC).
- Design, implement, and debug SoftModel memories for simulation, emulation, and prototyping environments.
- Debug simulation- and emulation-based verification flows.
- Test and validate the VirtuaLAB solution portfolio for each quarterly release.
- Monitor and summarize test results across configurations and platforms, including benchmarking.
- Support deployment activities from initial specification through delivery.
- Present findings and share knowledge with team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
Key requirements and competencies.
- Must-have: Solid experience with Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
- Knowledge of digital hardware design and FPGA design flow.
- Familiarity with memory protocols.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, or TCL/TK.
- Proactive, hands-on approach and strong communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with Siemens DISW simulation, synthesis, or functional verification tools.
- Prior experience with prototyping or emulation platforms.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
