Hardware Designer Intern - Solutions Engineering
Role Summary
The intern will join the Solutions Engineering team to support SoC development using Arm IP, learning from experienced engineers and contributing to design, verification and debugging activities.
This is an approximately 6-month internship (full-time or part-time) starting in 2027 based in Budapest, Hungary.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Targeted at current university students (Bachelors, Masters or PhD) or equivalent early-career candidates.
Responsibilities
Work on SoC integration, RTL development and verification under mentor supervision. Typical tasks include:
- Integrate Arm IP into SoC designs and verify correct functional behaviour.
- Develop and maintain RTL code (SystemVerilog/Verilog) and run EDA flows to check results.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to support development and debugging.
- Identify, debug and fix design issues discovered during verification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global engineering teams and participate in reviews.

- Must-have: Good English communication skills for a multinational environment.
- Must-have: Right to work in Hungary for the full internship duration; Arm cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role.
- Availability: Able to commit to an approximately 6-month internship starting in 2027 (full-time or part-time).
- Nice-to-have: Understanding of SoC/ASIC/FPGA design methodologies.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog).
- Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Python, TCL, Perl, PHP), Linux/shell proficiency, Makefiles and Git.
- Nice-to-have: Interest or experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity and debug workflows.
Education Requirements
Candidates must be enrolled in a higher education degree and returning to their course after the internship. Suitable fields include Electrical Engineering or Computer Science; Bachelors, Masters or PhD students are welcome. Alternative degrees may be considered with relevant experience.
