Role Summary

Work on the Central System Engineering Hardware Design team within Marvell's Central Engineering group to design high-speed, multi-layer PCBs and support hardware validation for interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, USB, SATA, SD, and storage products. The role covers schematic capture, component selection, SI/PI analysis, PCB layout, simulation, and lab bring-up.

This is an onsite internship based in Singapore. Applicants may be subject to export-control eligibility reviews required for access to certain technologies.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for students or recent graduates. No specific years of professional experience required; candidates should have completed relevant academic or project work demonstrating circuit/schematic design and hands-on lab debugging.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include designing, simulating, and validating high-speed hardware and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, routing, and documentation.
• Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis and optimize designs.
• Run circuit, PCB, and electromagnetic simulations (SPICE, Ansys or equivalent).
• Conduct hardware bring-up, debugging, characterization, and validation using lab equipment (VNA, protocol analyzers).
• Collaborate with architecture and validation teams to meet system and customer requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and documentation of results and issues.
• Evaluate design trade-offs among performance, power, cost, and reliability.

Requirements

Essential technical skills, practical experience, and communication abilities for internship success.

• Completed an academic or professional project involving schematic capture and circuit design; able to explain objectives, contributions, and issue resolution.
• Hands-on laboratory experience debugging hardware and isolating whether issues are related to circuit, chip, or board.
• Familiarity with PCB design and analysis tools such as Cadence Allegro, Ansys Electronics, and SPICE (experience preferred).
• Basic understanding of high-speed interfaces and PCB layout considerations for SI/PI.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Willingness to perform hands-on lab work and participate in design reviews and testing.
