Job Title

GSoC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Global SoC (GSoC) hardware verification team to verify next-generation Data Center SoCs used for AI, HPC, mobile, and cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on developing scalable verification solutions, driving verification closure, and supporting first-silicon delivery for complex SoC designs.

Experience Level

Open to new college graduates and experienced engineers; typical hires range from entry-level to experienced verification engineers (approximately 0–5+ years), depending on the specific position applied for.

Responsibilities

The role centers on SoC-level verification, verification infrastructure, and AI-assisted automation.

  • Develop and execute verification plans for SoC, subsystems, and IP.
  • Design and implement scalable SystemVerilog/UVM and processor-based verification environments.
  • Create directed and constrained-random tests, assertions, and functional coverage models.
  • Debug RTL, testbench, and integration issues; collaborate with design teams to fix defects.
  • Drive coverage closure using functional and code coverage metrics.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews to capture verification requirements early.
  • Support emulation and acceleration-based verification flows when needed.
  • Improve verification methodology, automation, and reusable components.
  • Develop AI agents and automation workflows to assist verification tasks, integrate AI with engineering tools and knowledge bases, and build RAG pipelines for documentation and test generation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred skills listed separately.

  • Strong experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, C, and Assertion-Based Verification (SVA).
  • Experience in coverage-driven verification and developing environments from specification to signoff.
  • Deep understanding of computer architecture and digital design fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to debug complex SoC-level issues.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Experience or interest in AI-assisted verification workflows and test generation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Full-chip or subsystem verification experience, CPU verification, or cache-coherency protocol experience (ACE, CHI, CXL).
  • Experience with DDR/HBM memory systems, PCIe, Ethernet, or networking protocols.
  • AI/ML accelerator verification, security/RAS, and system power/performance verification.
  • Familiarity with Portable Stimulus (PSS), Formal Verification, emulation platforms (Veloce/Palladium/ZeBu), and power-aware verification.
  • Understanding of machine learning and LLMs (GPT, Claude, Llama, etc.) for integration with verification workflows.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering. Preferred: Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. (The posting specifies a Bachelor’s degree as the minimum qualification.)
