Graphics Modelling Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Graphics System team to create bit-accurate simulators and architectural models for mobile Adreno GPUs. The role focuses on designing and implementing functional C/C++ models, developing verification suites, and collaborating with architects, RTL designers, driver and compiler teams to validate GPU functionality and performance.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience guidance: Bachelor's degree + 3+ years systems engineering or related experience; Master's + 2+ years; PhD + 1+ year.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Implement bitwise-accurate functional models (C/C++) to simulate GPU architectures.
  • Develop and execute functional verification and validation against RTL simulation.
  • Create test suites and perform conformance, stress, and random testing to stabilize GPU and compute systems.
  • Define development scope, develop algorithms for functional blocks, and collaborate with architects, designers, driver and compiler teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Strong understanding of the modern 3D graphics pipeline.
  • Programming experience with graphics/compute APIs such as DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL, or Vulkan.
  • Experience modeling in C++ and solid knowledge of computer/GPU architecture and pipelines.
  • Proven debugging and problem-solving skills; ability to write clean, maintainable C++ code.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of ray-tracing or compute architecture and pipeline.
  • Experience with Python/Perl, SystemC/TLM, Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Graphics/compute driver or compiler experience; Agile development experience.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (paired with 3+ years relevant experience). Preferred: Master's degree in those fields (2+ years experience). PhD in a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience is also acceptable.
