Graphene Photonics Device Reliability Testing Engineer (f/m/d)
Black SemiconductorJob Title
Graphene Photonics Device Reliability Testing Engineer (f/m/d)
Role Summary
Responsible for developing and executing reliability qualification, failure analysis, and accelerated life testing for integrated graphene photonics products. Collaborates with Design Enablement, Process Integration, and Product Quality to validate device reliability and support the transition from prototype to production-qualified products.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Prior hands-on experience in semiconductor device physics, photonic device characterization, and reliability testing is required; specific years of experience are not stated.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include designing and running reliability tests, analyzing failure modes, and producing qualification documentation.
- Design and execute wafer-level reliability test plans (DC bias, RF endurance, thermal cycling, long-term stability).
- Characterize and monitor performance metrics: extinction ratio, insertion loss, bandwidth retention, energy efficiency, dark current stability, and responsivity over device lifetime.
- Perform high-speed RF and optical measurements and analyze S-parameters and time-domain data.
- Lead structured root-cause investigations using FMEA and 8D methodologies and feed findings back to Design and Process teams.
- Collaborate with product and quality teams to meet industry standards and generate qualification and reliability documentation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience.
- Hands-on experience in semiconductor device physics, optoelectronics, or reliability engineering.
- Experience with photonic device characterization and reliability testing.
- High-speed RF testing experience >40 GHz and VNA-based S-parameter measurements.
- Familiarity with test equipment: vector network analyzers, real-time and sampling oscilloscopes (50+ GHz), lightwave component analyzers, optical spectrum analyzers, and probe stations.
- Experience with failure analysis and root-cause methods (FMEA, 8D).
- Knowledge of industry qualification standards (JEDEC, OIF, IEC, IEEE) and experience preparing qualification documentation.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Photonics Engineering.
