Job Title

Graphene Photonics Data Analyst

Role Summary

The Graphene Photonics Data Analyst will convert characterization and measurement data into validated, production-ready insights that inform device design, process development, and manufacturing decisions. The role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analysis software development, and device physics as the team moves from R&D toward high-volume production in Aachen.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career β€” at least two years of relevant industry or research experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support R&D and production by building and operating data analysis pipelines, extracting device parameters, and enabling process feedback.

  • Own and continuously improve the characterization analysis software suite and pipelines.
  • Develop new analysis methods as measurement capabilities evolve and integrate them into the toolchain.
  • Build and maintain reliable, scalable data infrastructure for measurement and production data.
  • Ensure integrity, accuracy, and traceability of analysis outputs and maintain versioned analysis protocols.
  • Turn raw measurement data into actionable insights for device design and process control.
  • Extract device parameters from measured data and benchmark results against physical and compact models.
  • Perform statistical process and yield analyses to identify trends, correlations, and outliers across wafers and lots.
  • Correlate characterization results with process parameters and integrate outputs with fab MES and data systems for process feedback.
  • Transition mature R&D code into robust, production-ready tools and optimize pipelines for throughput and scalability.

Requirements

Core technical skills and relevant experience required.

  • Minimum two years of relevant industry or research experience.
  • Strong Python skills and proven experience building high-quality software and owning technical projects end-to-end.
  • Solid foundation in device physics (solid-state physics, semiconductor devices, photonics).
  • Experience with statistical analysis, model fitting, and parameter extraction.
  • Experience with data visualization and tracking trends across wafers, lots, or manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work with laboratory or fab instrument interfaces.
  • Experience developing scalable data infrastructure and transitioning R&D analysis into production-ready tools.

Nice-to-have: Experience integrating analysis outputs with fab MES or production data systems and experience scaling pipelines for high-volume production.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Data Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline (relevant technical master's or doctoral degree in physics, data science, electrical engineering, or similar fields).
