Graduate Talent (ISCP SV Design Verification Engineer)

Role Summary

Entry-level verification engineer in Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering Group focused on pre-silicon functional validation of SoCs and chipsets.

Works with architecture, design, and system validation teams to plan and execute validation strategies, perform deep debug, drive root-cause analysis, and improve verification methodologies and automation.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Graduate). Recent Bachelor’s or Master’s graduates; specific years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop pre-silicon functional validation strategies, test plans, test suites, and methodologies for SoC/chipset products.
  • Collaborate with architects, micro-architects, design and system validation teams on validation strategy, technical readiness, and failure disposition.
  • Perform low-level and complex debug at subsystem and SoC levels; conduct root-cause analysis for triage failures and marginality issues.
  • Apply understanding of SoC design, architecture, firmware, and software to isolate failing components and resolve issues.
  • Define, develop, and implement techniques and automation to speed debug and improve verification efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have and desirable qualifications:

  • Must-have: Knowledge of computer system architecture and software–hardware subsystems.
  • Programming experience in Python and C/C++ and familiarity with UNIX; ability to automate verification flows.
  • Experience or coursework with RTL, FPGA/emulation or silicon debug, and basic logic design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Maestro/Perspec, UPF, emulation platforms, silicon bring-up, or prior SoC validation projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronic Engineering, or a closely related technical field. The posting targets recent graduates (Bachelor's or Master's).
