Graduate Talent (E-core CPU Design Automation)

Role Summary

Join the E-core CPU Design Automation team to develop and support CAD solutions and methodologies for Intel CPU design flows. The role focuses on improving design efficiency for custom design flows and maturing CAD solutions for production use.

Work includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and technical support while collaborating closely with design teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” recent graduates or current students; typically 0–2 years of practical experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include the following activities across the CAD/automation lifecycle.

  • Define and develop methodologies and processes to improve CAD tool utilization and design efficiency for custom CPU design flows.
  • Analyze problems, gather requirements, and design automation solutions.
  • Implement, test, deploy, and document CAD flows and tool integrations.
  • Provide technical support and debug issues in collaboration with design teams.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to transition solutions into production use and maintain them.
  • Follow structured development and decision-making processes; communicate progress and findings clearly in writing and verbally.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items are listed separately.

  • Must-have: Familiarity with UNIX environments and proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • Must-have: Experience with or knowledge of CAD tools used in VLSI design and flow automation.
  • Must-have: Basic understanding of semiconductor/VLSI concepts and CMOS logic design practices.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical skills, ability to debug complex tool/flow issues, and clear written/verbal communication.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience or knowledge of agentic AI techniques to automate, optimize, or accelerate design productivity.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to CPU/SoC design flows or production CAD deployment.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. The posting targets students or recent graduates currently pursuing relevant studies in semiconductor, VLSI, or computer architecture topics.
