Job Title
Graduate Talent (CPU-SoC Silicon Design)
Role Summary
Entry-level engineering role in the CPU/SoC silicon design team within Silicon and Platform Engineering. The role involves training and contributing to design, verification and integration of next-generation SoC/CPU components across RTL, physical implementation and analog IP.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Graduate role suitable for recent graduates.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include RTL validation, physical design implementation, analog IP development and system/IP integration for SoC devices.
- Perform RTL functional validation and logic simulation using CAD tools; verify circuit behavior against models and silicon.
- Implement and verify structural physical designs: synthesis, floorplanning, power-grid and clock-tree design, place-and-route, RC extraction, timing budgeting and closure.
- Develop analog IP for deep-submicron processes (clocking circuits, bandgap references, IO circuits) and verify layout and performance.
- Integrate third-party IP: synthesis, timing convergence, pre- and post-silicon debug; manage signals across power planes and clock domains.
- Work with industry-standard interfaces and subsystems (LPDDR, eMMC, SATA, UFS, PCIe, USB, MIPI) and support system integration across silicon, firmware, middleware, drivers and OS/apps.
Requirements
Core technical skills and tool experience expected for immediate contribution.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with VLSI CMOS logic circuit design and physical design flows.
-
Must-have: Proficiency with UNIX, C programming and electronic CAD tools for IC design and simulation.
-
Must-have: RTL validation and simulation experience; basic understanding of synthesis, timing closure and verification practices.
-
Must-have: Ability to work on IP integration and debug across power/clock domains and standard SoC interfaces.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with analog IP (PLLs, DLLs, bandgap), high-voltage IO, DDR/LPDDR design and pre/post-silicon debug.
-
Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to firmware, drivers or platform bring-up and cross-layer system integration.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Science in Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
