Graduate Power, Thermal and Performance Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Validate and optimize System-on-Chip (SoC) power, thermal, and performance to ensure products meet defined KPIs. Work at the SoC level to analyze, debug, and improve platform power and performance.

Join the Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE) and collaborate with cross-functional firmware, hardware, and system teams on validation, debugging, and optimization activities.

Experience Level

Entry-level — graduate position. Typical experience: 0–1 years of relevant industry or research experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning, executing, analyzing, and debugging SoC-level validation and optimization activities.

  • Define, develop, and execute SoC-level power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization plans.
  • Perform detailed analysis to verify power, thermal, and performance KPIs against targets.
  • Perform SoC-level debugging to identify root causes of power, thermal, and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, debug, and refine design implementations.
  • Contribute to validation documentation, test plans, and reporting of results.

  • Must-have: Proficiency in SoC power, thermal, and performance validation and optimization methodologies.
  • Must-have: Experience with performance validation, power and performance analysis, and debugging techniques at the system or platform level.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with programming/scripting (Python and C) for test automation and analysis.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of platform components and system architecture.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with post-silicon validation methodologies and performance benchmarking tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with data collection instruments such as DAQs and logic analyzers.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong problem-solving skills and experience collaborating across diverse engineering teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field is preferred. Typical experience expectation: 0–1+ years with a Bachelor's degree or 0 years with a Master's degree.
