Job Title

Graduate Engineer – FPGA HPS USB Post-Silicon Validation

Role Summary

Join the Silicon Validation team to validate HPS USB subsystems on next-generation FPGA SoC devices. Work with experienced engineers to bring up new silicon, run validation tests, debug issues, and develop automation to ensure device quality.

This is a hands-on laboratory role suited to a recent graduate interested in embedded systems, hardware validation, and debugging real silicon.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Graduate). Suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

You will execute and support post-silicon USB validation activities, debug hardware/software interactions, and develop test automation.

  • Execute HPS USB validation test plans for Host, Device, and OTG functionality.
  • Perform silicon bring-up and basic hardware debugging on development platforms.
  • Run manual and automated test cases to validate functionality, performance, and interoperability.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test results and debug findings.
  • Reproduce, isolate, and track hardware and software issues found during validation.
  • Develop and maintain test automation using Python, TCL, or similar scripting languages.
  • Use USB protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, and lab equipment to investigate system behavior.
  • Support validation of HPS boot flows, peripheral connectivity, and hardware–software interactions.
  • Collaborate with firmware, design, software, and platform teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain validation documentation, test procedures, and regression reports; contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes for the role.

  • Basic programming/scripting knowledge in Python, C/C++, TCL, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line environments.
  • Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills for hardware/software issues.
  • Experience or willingness to work with lab equipment such as protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a hands-on lab environment.

Education Requirements
