Job Title
Graduate - Analog Mixed-Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Entry-level analog/mixed-signal design engineer role on a product engineering team. Work includes schematic-level circuit design, pre- and post-layout simulation, verification, silicon bring-up, and lab characterization.
The role requires collaboration with verification, physical design, and lab teams to validate analog/I/O and mixed-signal IP blocks.
Experience Level
Entry-level β recent graduate (typically 0β2 years). Role is aimed at graduates beginning their full-time engineering careers.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities are design, verification, validation, and documentation of analog and mixed-signal building blocks.
- Develop schematics and perform circuit analysis; run pre-layout simulations to validate design intent.
- Optimize and run mixed-signal testbenches for analog/digital signal verification in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Simulate and validate building blocks such as precision and low-power analog circuitry, I/O circuits, data converters, and clock-generation IP.
- Debug and troubleshoot analog/mixed-signal circuit issues; support post-layout parasitic extraction and verification.
- Support silicon bring-up, bench evaluation, and characterization; coordinate measurements with lab technicians.
- Prepare clear design documentation and present architecture, implementation, and validation results in technical reviews.
- Collaborate with physical design/layout teams on layout-critical requirements.
Requirements
Practical skills and experience required or strongly preferred for successful performance in this role.
-
Must-have: Proficiency with the Cadence mixed-signal design tool suite.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience in the design and simulation of data converters and/or clock-generation IP; strong foundation in analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
-
Must-have: Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
-
Nice-to-have: Power Management IC design experience.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience using AI tools for design and verification workflows.
- High attention to detail across architecture definition, circuit design, debugging, and documentation.
Education Requirements
Master's or PhD in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a closely related technical field is preferred; candidates are expected to be recent graduates (graduated within the last year). Equivalent practical experience is not specified but may be considered.
