GPU Verification Engineer - AI SoC Development
Intel CorporationJob Title
GPU Verification Engineer - AI SoC Development
Role Summary
Work as a SoC design verification engineer on AI SoCs within Intel's Data Center and AI group. Develop and execute pre-silicon verification plans and environments, verify system-level functionality, and support delivery of reliable SoC designs.
The role requires collaboration with architecture, RTL, post-silicon, and physical design teams to find and resolve design issues and improve verification quality.
Experience Level
Senior level. Typical experience guidance from the posting: Bachelor's +10 years, Master's +8 years, or PhD +6 years of relevant hands-on SoC/IP pre-silicon verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing and executing scalable verification for SoC and subsystem blocks, debugging issues found in pre-silicon flows, and improving verification infrastructure.
- Define and implement scalable, reusable block/sub-system/SoC testbenches and verification environments.
- Create and execute SoC verification plans to achieve required coverage and validate against microarchitecture specifications.
- Perform functional logic verification and run emulation and system simulation to verify designs and analyze power and performance.
- Replicate, root-cause, and debug pre-silicon issues; implement corrective measures and revalidate.
- Collaborate with SoC architects, microarchitects, RTL developers, post-silicon, and physical design teams to resolve complex architectural and microarchitectural issues.
- Document test plans, lead technical reviews, and maintain verification methodology and infrastructure.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
- Include security activities in test plans (regression and debug) and promote AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools for the role.
- Proficiency in RTL and Verilog; experience with simulation and debug tools (e.g., Verdi).
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog-based verification methodologies and frameworks (UVM or OVM).
- Solid understanding of computer architecture, SoC design principles, and system-level validation methodologies.
- Knowledge of high-speed IO protocols, fabric, and memory coherency at the SoC/system level.
- Proficiency with scripting and build utilities (Make, Perl, Python, or similar).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with emulation, advanced SoC verification methodologies, and power/performance analysis tools.
- Experience in SoC fabric verification at subsystem/SoC level.
- Prior mentoring or technical leadership experience.
Education Requirements
Degree expectations: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, VLSI, Computer Engineering or related field with ~10+ years' experience; OR Master's with ~8+ years; OR PhD with ~6+ years. No specific certifications were listed. (These degree-and-experience combinations were listed as the minimum qualifications in the source.)
