GPU Validation Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
GPU Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Join a graphics validation team responsible for defining, developing, and executing functional validation for GPUs, including media, display, fabric, and system-level features. The role requires regular onsite presence and collaboration with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 8+ years of industry experience (per minimum qualifications).
Responsibilities
Perform pre- and post-silicon validation and silicon debug to ensure GPU functional correctness, performance, power, and area targets are met. Produce validation infrastructure and reports and collaborate across teams to resolve issues.
- Define, develop, and execute functional validation plans for GPU features (media, display, fabric, DFD, system-level).
- Apply hardware and software tools to achieve validation coverage and performance/power/area objectives.
- Perform silicon debug, failure analysis, and root-cause isolation for GPU issues.
- Develop post-silicon validation infrastructure: performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state-space coverage tools.
- Test interactions across GPU features using validation infrastructure and test environments.
- Review proposed design changes and update validation plans, timelines, and tasks accordingly.
- Publish validation reports, communicate findings, and work with cross-functional teams to drive fixes and design optimizations.
- Contribute to improving debug and validation strategies, methodologies, and processes for graphics interfaces.
Requirements
Minimum technical must-haves and desirable skills for initial and strong candidates.
- Must-have: 8+ years industry experience in pre-silicon validation with SystemVerilog/UVM and SoC/subsystem verification focused on Design for Debug (DFD), SoC fabric, boot/reset, and power-management functions.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with silicon debug, failure triage, and validation infrastructure development.
- Must-have: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: Experience driving pre-silicon validation as a technical lead and working as an individual contributor.
- Nice-to-have: GPU-specific pre-silicon validation experience and validation of Design for Debug features.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field. Preferred: Master's degree in those fields (listed as a preference in the posting).
