GPU Software Engineering Manager

Role Summary

Lead a team of engineers and architects to design, validate, optimize, debug, and deliver high-performance GPU software stacks for graphics and compute products in Intel's Data Center Group.

Drive alignment with silicon and hardware roadmaps, cross-functional integration, and timely delivery of production-quality software.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience range: approximately 8–12+ years of professional software engineering and engineering management experience.

Responsibilities

Manage technical delivery, team performance, and cross-functional collaboration to produce scalable, reliable GPU software.

  • Direct and manage a team of GPU software engineers and architects to deliver production software.
  • Oversee architecture, design, validation, debugging, optimization, and release activities for GPU software.
  • Ensure software deliverables align with silicon and hardware roadmaps and meet performance targets.
  • Collaborate with silicon design, architecture, and product management to define requirements and tradeoffs.
  • Set and execute team goals, priorities, schedules, and engineering processes.
  • Foster an inclusive, accountable team culture and develop engineering talent.
  • Improve engineering practices, tooling, and efficiency across the team.
  • Engage in customer-facing debugging, validation, and performance investigations as needed.

  • Must-have: Proven expertise in GPU software development including architecture, design, validation, debugging, and optimization.
  • Must-have: Strong proficiency in C++ and Python and experience with GPU-related tools and frameworks.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated success leading and managing technical teams to deliver complex software projects.
  • Must-have: Experience aligning software with silicon/hardware roadmaps and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Must-have: Ability to pass an extended background investigation (Position of Trust requirement).
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Advanced knowledge of graphics and compute stacks and APIs (for example OpenCL, Vulkan, DirectX).
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies and competitive performance analysis for GPU technologies.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Strong communication skills, experience developing engineers, and history of cross-functional collaboration with silicon and product teams.

Education Requirements
