GPU Software Development Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
GPU Software Development Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Graphics validation team to develop automated validation tools, large-scale test frameworks and AI-driven solutions for GPU driver and graphics stack validation. The role covers pre-silicon emulation/simulation through post-silicon product launch and requires collaboration with OS, BIOS, hardware, customer engineering and multiple software teams.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting expects senior-level experience (see Education Requirements for degree guidance).
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities are focused on software validation, automation and AI-enabled tooling for GPU graphics and compute software.
- Design and implement automated validation tests and complex test tools for kernel-mode drivers, memory managers, virtualization and compute/graphics workloads.
- Develop AI/ML solutions and workflows to scale and improve validation (including model-driven test content and retrieval/agent workflows).
- Define validation strategy and test plans; drive debug and issue resolution across HW/SW boundaries.
- Work across teams (OS vendors, BIOS, hardware design, customer engineering, graphics software teams) to integrate tests and validation flows.
- Support pre-silicon simulation/emulation and post-silicon bring-up with focus on functionality, power, performance and debuggability.
- Analyze validation data, document findings, and improve testing processes and tooling.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, practical experience and personal skills required to perform the role.
- Proficient in C/C++ and scripting with Python.
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or scikit-learn.
- Practical experience defining validation strategy, creating test plans and developing automated tests at scale.
- Familiarity with Generative AI and LLMs (knowledge of Claude, GPT, Opus) and applying them for information retrieval, agentic workflows, or test content generation.
- Strong experience with graphics drivers, GPU hardware and low-level GPU programming, and ability to interpret GPU specifications for software validation.
- Experience working on systems-level hardware/software product development teams and collaborating across geographies.
- Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
Nice-to-have:
- Kernel-mode driver development experience (power management, memory management, scheduler, virtualization) and OS concepts.
- Experience customizing RAG pipelines, model fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, PEFT) and other LLM tuning/engineering approaches.
- Proven use of AI/ML on structured and unstructured data for practical applications.
- Experience with prompt engineering, agentic/skill-based workflow automation, retrieval re-ranking and hierarchical parsing techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (with ~8+ years experience) or Master's degree (with ~7+ years experience) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
