GPU Software Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and validate AI-driven and GPU-related software across Intel platforms, focusing on media, display, and graphics stacks. Work includes building high-performance modules, performance tuning, automated validation, and system integration for Windows and Linux environments.

The role requires close collaboration with OS vendors, ISVs, and cross-functional teams to deliver software quality measurement, tracking systems, and integrations that support Intel's GPU and AI roadmap. This position requires on-site presence in Shanghai.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include software development, performance work, validation, and cross-team integration:

  • Design and implement high-performance software modules using Python, C, and C++.
  • Develop and maintain video codecs and video processing pipeline components.
  • Perform performance analysis, tuning, and optimization of media drivers and related software across Intel platforms on Windows and Linux.
  • Develop automated validation tools, perform system debugging and integration testing.
  • Deploy and integrate advanced AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, VLMs) within agentic frameworks where applicable.
  • Build and improve software quality measurement and tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with OS vendors, ISVs, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Maintain code quality, testing practices, and adhere to coding standards.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and capabilities:

  • Hands-on experience in Windows and Linux software development and the full software development and testing lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Python, C, and C++ with strong code-quality awareness.
  • Experience in performance analysis, tuning, and optimization for media/graphics software.
  • Experience building automated validation tools, system-level debugging, and integration testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation for learning, and proactive innovation.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Deep understanding of video encoding/decoding and video processing technologies.
  • Knowledge of LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, and vision-language models (VLMs).

Education Requirements

Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; relevant industry experience is expected.
