GPU (RTL) Design - Sr Lead
QualcommJob Title
GPU (RTL) Design - Sr Lead
Role Summary
Senior RTL engineer on the GPU hardware team responsible for logic design, micro-architecture, RTL coding and integration of complex multi-clock-domain ASIC blocks. The role works with verification, validation and backend teams to deliver synthesizable RTL that meets timing, power and functional requirements.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 4β8 years of ASIC RTL design experience as specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, integration and delivery of GPU RTL and related blocks.
- Architect and implement logic/micro-architecture and RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Design and integrate complex multi-clock-domain blocks and asynchronous interfaces.
- Implement and verify AMBA protocol interfaces (AXI, AHB, APB) and clock/reset/debug architecture.
- Work with synthesis and timing flows to meet timing and area targets.
- Use ASIC development flows and tools (linting, CDC checks, synthesis, static timing analysis).
- Collaborate with design verification and validation teams for pre-silicon and post-silicon debug.
- Contribute to low-power design techniques and optimizations where applicable.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: Hands-on RTL design and coding in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Experience with multi-clock designs and CDC/async interface handling.
- Must-have: Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and clock/reset/debug architectures.
- Must-have: Practical experience with ASIC toolchain: lint, CDC tools, synthesis (Design Compiler), and static timing analysis (PrimeTime).
- Must-have: Understanding of synthesis and timing concepts for ASIC implementation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with memory controller designs, microprocessors, and low-power design techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field plus 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in those fields plus 2+ years; OR PhD in those fields plus 1+ year. The posting allows related work experience corresponding to the degree-linked experience requirements.
