GPU (RTL) Design - Sr Engineer
QualcommJob Title
GPU (RTL) Design - Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Design and integrate RTL for GPU subsystems within the ASICS Engineering team. Work on logic design, micro-architecture and RTL coding, focusing on multi-clock-domain blocks and ASIC implementation flows.
Collaborate with verification, validation and silicon teams to deliver synthesis-ready RTL and support pre/post-silicon debug.
Experience Level
Senior - the listing specifies approximately 3 to 4+ years of ASIC RTL design experience; the title indicates a senior-level engineering role.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include RTL design, integration, and delivery of GPU-related blocks and supporting ASIC implementation and debug.
- Design micro-architecture and implement RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Integrate and verify complex multi-clock-domain blocks and asynchronous interfaces.
- Implement and interface with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and design clock/reset/debug architecture.
- Develop synthesis-aware RTL and work on timing closure with synthesis and static timing tools.
- Use ASIC flow tools (lint, CDC analysis, Design Compiler, PrimeTime) throughout design and signoff stages.
- Work closely with design verification and validation teams for pre- and post-silicon debug.
- Contribute to low-power design techniques and optimization when applicable.
Requirements
Technical skills and experience required and preferred.
Must-have:
- Proven ASIC RTL design experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Hands-on experience with multi-clock designs and asynchronous interfaces.
- Experience integrating complex multi-clock-domain blocks.
- Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB).
- Experience using lint, CDC tools, synthesis (Design Compiler) and static timing analysis (PrimeTime).
- Practical understanding of synthesis and timing concepts for ASICs.
Nice-to-have:
- Understanding of memory controller designs and microprocessor interfaces.
- Experience with low-power design techniques.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's in the same fields with 2+ years of experience; OR PhD in the same fields with 1+ year of experience.
