Job Title

GPU Physical Implementation Engineer (All Levels)

Role Summary

Design and implement GPU core physical implementation and related flows to meet performance, power, and area targets. Work within an ASIC/SoC engineering team in Cork to build functional models, run synthesis/PNR flows, and perform pre- and post-silicon verification and analysis.

Experience Level

Mid-level role. The posting references experienced engineers (typical GPU or ASIC implementation experience expected); minimum experience requirements vary by academic background (see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Main technical responsibilities include designing, implementing, verifying, and optimizing GPU physical designs and flows.

  • Architect, implement, verify and optimize GPU cores for performance, power, and area targets.
  • Develop and run functional models and simulations; evaluate process technology node impacts.
  • Execute PNR and synthesis flows and apply SOC implementation methodologies.
  • Design and analyze semi-custom circuit solutions; perform STA timing and power analysis.
  • Create and run graphics tests and benchmarks; perform pre- and post-silicon validation to verify functionality and stability.
  • Analyze test and benchmark data to identify issues and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors; write clear technical documentation.

Requirements

Essential technical skills and experience; degree details are listed under Education Requirements.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with PNR/synthesis tools, flows and methodologies.
  • Must-have: Experience with SOC design implementation and methodology.
  • Must-have: Circuit design experience and familiarity with STA timing analysis and power analysis.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of process technology impacts on physical implementation and floorplanning.
  • Must-have: Experience with semi-custom design flow and related methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: GPU-specific implementation or architecture experience, benchmark development, pre-/post-silicon bring-up, scripting/tools development and statistical analysis of results.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors in large SoC projects.

Education Requirements

Degree options: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies degree-linked minimum experience: Bachelor's +6 years, Master’s +5 years, or PhD +4 years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration or equivalent practical experience. The listing also states applications with equivalent experience will be considered.
