Job Title
GPU Performance Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform performance verification of GPU graphics subsystems (3D graphics, media, display) to ensure designs meet architectural and microarchitectural performance, power, and timing targets. Work on verification planning, testbench development, system simulation, root-cause analysis, and verification infrastructure.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Posting specifies BE with 7+ years of experience or MS/MTech with 5+ years of design verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include verification planning, execution, debugging, and collaboration with design teams.
- Perform performance verification of graphics logic components (3D graphics, media, display).
- Define and develop scalable, reusable IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification environment architecture.
- Execute verification plans and run system simulations to verify design behavior, analyze power and timing, and identify performance issues.
- Reproduce failures, perform root-cause analysis, and debug issues in the presilicon environment.
- Implement corrective measures to resolve failing tests and improve coverage.
- Collaborate with GPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams on complex architectural and microarchitectural verification.
- Document test plans and lead technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
- Maintain and improve performance verification infrastructure, methodology, and related TFMs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and verification experience.
- Experience verifying subsystems or SoCs containing GPU and/or CPU blocks.
- Hands-on experience writing UVM-based tests, assembly-level tests, and tests using high-level APIs such as OpenGL and/or OpenCL.
- Knowledge of graphics 3D and/or compute pipelines.
- Knowledge of cache controllers and memory protocols such as HBM, LPDDR, GDDR.
- Experience with industry-standard emulation/silicon-assisted verification tools (e.g., Zebu, Veloce, Palladium).
- Ability to reproduce, root-cause, and debug presilicon issues and implement fixes.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior performance verification experience.
- Experience with performance analysis and bottleneck analysis of 3D and/or compute workloads.
Education Requirements
BE (Bachelor of Engineering) with 7+ years of design verification experience OR MS / MTech with 5+ years of design verification experience. Specific field of study is not stated in the posting.
