GPU Logic Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
GPU Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify RTL for GPU IP blocks (compute, display, media) to meet power, performance, area and timing goals. The role works within Intel's Data Center Group on GPU hardware that integrates into full SoC designs.
Day-to-day work includes logic design, RTL coding, simulation, verification, and supporting integration with SoC customers and cross-functional teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires around 6+ years of hands-on industry experience in IP RTL design and verification.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop logic design and write RTL for GPU IPs (graphics and media).
- Create and run simulations to validate RTL and microarchitecture features.
- Optimize designs for power, performance, area, and timing.
- Develop and review verification plans across validation hierarchies.
- Implement fixes and corrective measures for RTL test failures and coverage gaps.
- Support integration of GPU blocks into SoC designs and assist customers where needed.
- Collaborate with architecture and cross-functional teams on feature definition and implementation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 6+ years of hands-on IP RTL design experience with demonstrated microarchitecture and system verification skills using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Experience in logic design optimization, timing analysis, and validation workflows.
- Proficiency with scripting for automation (Python or Perl).
- Knowledge of computer architecture and digital electronics principles.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with UVM and developing testbenches, monitors, and scoreboards.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for complex designs.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and communicating design/verification issues effectively.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is listed as a minimum. Preferred education includes a Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience).
