GPU Hardware Analysis and Automation Engineer
ArmJob Title
GPU Hardware Analysis and Automation Engineer
Role Summary
Support GPU hardware IP development by tracking, analysing, and improving power, performance, area, timing, and bandwidth (PPA) quality across the project lifecycle. Work with hardware design, verification, modelling, performance, and implementation teams to investigate trends, regressions, and design trade-offs.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not specify years of experience; suitable for engineers with practical hardware analysis and scripting experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Analyse engineering data to monitor PPA quality, identify regressions, and assess feature impacts.
- Collaborate with hardware, modelling, performance, and implementation teams to validate results and support product release activities.
- Develop scripts, automation, reports, and AI-assisted workflows to streamline data handling, validation, and reporting.
- Flag suspicious data, investigate unexpected results, and provide technical recommendations to improve IP quality.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Practical foundation in digital hardware design or computer architecture with an understanding of how frequency, voltage, area, and implementation targets affect PPA metrics.
- Ability to analyse technical data, reason about trade-offs, investigate anomalies, and communicate findings clearly.
- Programming or scripting proficiency (for example Python) and experience building automation to accelerate engineering workflows.
- Curiosity for investigating engineering data and improving reproducibility of analyses.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with GPU architecture, graphics pipelines, RTL, verification, modelling, implementation, or performance analysis.
- Experience with engineering data flows, simulation results, performance counters, power estimates, implementation reports, dashboards, or visualization tools.
- Experience applying AI-assisted coding or analysis tools to engineering investigations.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
