Job Title

GPU Functional Verification Senior Engineer

Role Summary

Work on functional verification for Qualcomm GPU cores as part of the GPU HW team in Bangalore. Lead development of verification environments, testbenches, and signoff-quality verification flows to validate RTL and deliver silicon-quality GPU implementations.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 5+ years of design verification experience; senior hires will be based on demonstrated verification expertise and impact.

Responsibilities

Core duties include designing and executing verification strategies, building test infrastructure, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project signoff.

  • Develop deep understanding of 3D graphics hardware pipeline, data paths, block functionality, and interfaces.
  • Design and implement UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches and verification environments; own test plans and signoff metrics.
  • Debug RTL artifacts, investigate failures across RTL/emulation/subsystem levels, and drive root-cause fixes.
  • Use emulation platforms and subsystem-level testbenches for workload analysis and performance bottleneck identification.
  • Integrate formal verification where appropriate and support property-based FV efforts.
  • Run power-aware and gate-level simulations to verify implementation quality.
  • Develop automation (Perl/Python) to manage regressions, optimize runtimes, and maintain verification databases and bug tracking.
  • Engage with EDA vendors and evaluate new DV methodologies to improve signoff quality.
  • Collaborate globally with architecture, design, and systems teams to meet project goals.

Requirements

Must-have skills and core qualifications, followed by useful additional skills.

  • Must-have: Minimum 5 years of design/functional verification experience; strong UVM and SystemVerilog testbench development skills; proven RTL debug ability; scripting experience (Python or Perl); strong written and verbal communication; ability to learn and deliver against schedules.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of GPU pipeline design; experience with formal/property-based verification; emulation and subsystem verification experience; power-aware and gate-level simulation experience; prior engagement with EDA vendors; experience building subsystem-level workload testbenches.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field (with ~3+ years experience), or Master's (with ~2+ years), or PhD (with ~1+ year). The posting also lists BE/ME/M.Sc. in Electrical, Electronics, VLSI, Microelectronics or equivalent. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable per the stated minimum qualifications.
