Job Title

GPU Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Intel's GPU Hardware Engineering organization to validate GPU IP used in graphics, AI, and high-performance computing platforms. The role focuses on functional and system-level validation to ensure performance, power, and reliability targets are met.

You will influence verification strategy, drive coverage closure, execute validation plans, and collaborate with architecture, design, software, and platform teams across the product lifecycle.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically candidates with ~3+ years industry experience (per hiring guidelines for this role).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing validation activities across RTL, silicon, and system levels, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

  • Define, develop, and perform functional validation for GPUs, including interactions among GPU, media, display, and system-level features.
  • Apply hardware and software tools to achieve validation coverage and meet performance, power, and area goals.
  • Review design changes and assess their impact on validation plans, tasks, and schedules.
  • Develop and execute GPU validation methodologies and test plans; drive coverage closure.
  • Perform silicon debug, failure triage, and root-cause analysis for GPU issues.
  • Develop post-silicon validation infrastructure (performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state-space coverage) and test environments.
  • Publish validation reports and communicate findings to architecture, design, platform, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, plus preferred additional skills.

Must-have:

  • Experience with SystemVerilog and OVM/UVM verification methodologies.
  • Scoreboard and test-plan development experience.
  • CPU or GPU architecture experience and familiarity testing feature interactions at system level.
  • Hands-on silicon debug and failure analysis experience.
  • Experience developing or using validation infrastructure and test environments.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, communication, and ability to work in distributed teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with floating-point math and FPV validation.
  • Proficiency in C++ for testbench/tools development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field with 3+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree in those fields with 1+ years of industry experience. No specific certifications were listed; equivalent practical experience is not explicitly stated in the posting.
