Role Summary
Lead and scale a multi-team SoC verification organization within the System Solutions Group (SSG), delivering customer-facing verification services across automotive, aerospace, defense, and high-performance computing.
Accountable for verification strategy, methodology standards, team structure, and executive customer engagement to ensure timely tapeout and delivery of complex SoC projects.
Experience Level
Senior β requires extensive leadership experience; posting specifies 15+ years of hands-on SoC, subsystem, or IP verification experience.
Responsibilities
You will lead verification execution, organizational planning, and customer engagement. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and grow a multi-team SoC verification organization delivering customer services across multiple domains.
- Define and drive verification strategy: methodology standards, signoff criteria, VIP and tool deployment, and reusable testbench patterns.
- Plan headcount, hiring, succession, performance management, and skill development to build scalable capability.
- Partner with sales and account teams to scope opportunities, assess technical/resource risk, and prioritize work against capacity.
- Act as executive-level technical authority on complex verification challenges, escalations, and convergence across multi-protocol, multi-domain designs.
- Establish accountability for verification managers and technical leads and drive adoption of Synopsys tools based on project learnings.
- Maintain executive customer relationships to enable long-term engagement growth and position Synopsys as the verification partner of choice.
Requirements
Must-have technical and leadership qualifications (education summarized below):
- 15+ years of hands-on SoC, subsystem, or IP verification experience with significant leadership scope.
- Expert-level knowledge of UVM-based verification, coverage-driven closure, verification planning, and multi-domain debug on processor-based SoC architectures.
- Proven experience leading large verification organizations or multi-project teams through planning, delivery, and customer signoff in services or product environments.
- Deep working knowledge of PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR, and AMBA interconnects and practical proficiency with Synopsys tools VCS, Verdi, and VIP.
- Demonstrated ability to build organizational structures with clear accountability and to develop managers and technical leads.
- Ability to partner with sales and senior customer stakeholders on scoping, risk assessment, and escalations.
- Nice-to-have: experience with ARM-based SoC architectures, automotive functional safety verification, or emulation flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is specified.
